Sapphire and diamond ring
The Brief:
This ring started when our client came to us with a traditional three stone sapphire and diamond ring and asked if it could be remodelled as a more contemporary ring.
The Process:
Our client wanted to enjoy her beautiful gemstones in a new ring, and also wanted it to be more modern so that she could pass the ring down to her daughter in the future.
The original ring
Our client was very clear about what she wanted, and based on the brief, Nicholas drew two designs:
This first design was a carved decorative style, featuring a hand carved filigree central section in white gold with a yellow gold bezel setting on the emerald cut sapphire:
The second design was a simple three stone layout with a wide white gold band, featuring the three main stones in yellow gold bezels:
After some deliberation, our client chose the simpler design. And she is thrilled with the finished ring – and so is her daughter!
