PIKE in Croatia

We love to hear from our clients about how much they enjoy their PIKE jewellery, and we have just received a fantastic email from one of clients who is travelling in Croatia:

Dear Nick,

P and I are holidaying in Croatia. We are cruising around various islands and one of the island we stopped at was was Vella Lukka. The town has the goal of creating the worlds longest mosaic. Various artists have made mosaics and they are laid in the footpath together. They hope to break the record in a couple of years.

Our guide on the boat knows one of the artists well and they allowed us to be the first group to prepare a mosaic. The group was thinking of what design to do when someone said we should copy the design of P’s necklace. Guess what she was wearing? the leaf you designed for her:

We had someone in the group who is an Artist draw the outline. They rest of the group filled in the gaps.

The picture below is the end result:
Note the we had to place the best side of the stone face down so we are viewing whatever the back is. They will pour various compounds including cement over what you can see. They then flick it over and polish up the other side which should look much better. Their aim is to make the Guinness book of records. Thought you would be interested that your design is immortalized in Croatia.
Love P and L

We can’t wait to see the finished mosaic!
