Sneak peek into the workshop

Our latest commission gave us the challenge of re-creating some precious family rings into a new and modern set of rings.

Our customer was given three rings by her mother, which she first thought would look best used in one bold new ring. After deciding that one ring may be a little too dressy and limiting, she mentioned to Nicholas her love of the mix of yellow and white gold. She showed Nicholas two lovely rings she was already wearing, and he came up with the more everyday and versatile idea of making three separate rings that could be ‘stacked’ with her two rings in whatever order her mood dictated. Here’s Nicholas’ concept, photographed with the family rings:

One of the most important parts of the brief was to make sure that each ring complemented the others so that all five rings would look like they had always been a set.

The two larger diamonds, which had been set in very traditional illusion settings in the original rings, would now be bezel set to enhance their size and to create beautiful focal points within the ‘stack’.

The smaller diamonds, which were all different sizes, were all to be pressure set to create a pretty scatter of sparkle in the plainer white metal band.

It wasn’t long before all of the rings were ready for our customer to see them and try them on, before the final step of setting the diamonds.

And after a final polish, the three beautiful rings were ready.

Our customer is thrilled with her beautiful stack of rings, and we are thrilled to have been able to design and re-make a set of rings that have made someone so happy. It’s what we love to do.
